St. Nick first appeared among the Pennsylvania Dutch in the mid 1820s in the form of Kris Kringle, or Belsnickle (derivative of the German "Pelz-nickle", which means "Nicholas in Furs".)
He was said to travel the Pennsylvania countryside ringing his bell in search of good children deserving of cakes, nuts and toys. Handmade. 23".
