ABOUT US

Victorian Trading Co. was born in 1986 in an attic art studio of Randy and Melissa Rolston’s old tudor home in Dallas. Originally christened Westport Card Company (named for a favorite neighborhood in their hometown of Kansas City), the company relocated when homesickness lured them back to their midwest origins where their four children and business would thrive.

Early years found the company marketing museum-caliber fine art greetings via catalog in a haunted flatiron building that once served as an office for Ernest Hemingway. Treasures unearthed at the Paris Flea Market, Portobello Road in London, and Round Top Texas alongside cherished estate sale heirlooms were replicated to endure and added to the offerings. Thus the trading company grew to fuel an idyllic lifestyle.

Melissa and Randy obtained art degrees at the University of Kansas where they met in a campus art gallery. The Jayhawks married their talents; Melissa a photographer, writer, and illustrator and Randy, a graphic designer with a savvy for business.

Together, they fostered a notion that transcended time via mailbox. The couple was invited to share their story on Oprah!, NBC's Nightly News and have enjoyed a myriad media stories and countless accolades over the last three decades to include the coveted Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. They were invited as guests to the White House and have aligned with numerous legends in the design and art world.

The company now embarks upon its fourth decade with an insatiable desire to preserve centenarian interests and a sacred legacy.
