Its a cute item. Easy to fill, as long as you have a funnel or use a piece of paper like one to get the powder inside. Up close, the paint job doesn't look so great, with streaks on top of the glaze and little specks stuck in it. But I don't regret buying it at all, as its perfectly suitable for everyday use and helps brighten my bathroom up nice.

I recently changed some of the decorative scheme in my bathroom and purchased this unique item as part of my 18th century-themed decor. Even though this is likely a reproduction of a Victorian or Edwardian piece, it still passes the visual test of appearing to be 18th century. It is level and doesn't rock around on the shelf and the size of the holes are just right for shaking out talcum powder. The shape fits well in one's hand without slipping.

Much bigger than I expected that is what I get for not reading the size notation. Too big for my vanity tray. Overwhelms delicate glass perfume bottles. I am using it for a decoration in my French inspired bedroom. Heavier than other pieces of porcelain I own.
