Washed Ashore Towel
"The Wave" by Wm. Adolphe Bouguereau c.1896, is interpreted as a siren of the sea who traded her gams for azure scales and fins. Our towel serves as a canvas for the French master, once the quintessential salon artist in France. His tragic life fueled the celestial genre that often celebrated souls being transported by romanticized angels to heaven. His legacy marries nature and spirituality graced with idyllic female forms and children with animals in pastoral settings.

The artwork on this towel is lovely. The fabric isn't the usual deep plushy terry cloth, however, the person for whom I purchased it says it is absorbent and soft. My only complaint is that this towel is very small. In fact, most of the towels in my linen closet are much larger. I wish this were bigger. As it is, it is too small to use as a beach towel and barely wraps around anyone with a substantial figure.

I saw this, and I had to have it!! I can't wait to get to the beach this summer, it's so unique and beautiful. Very high quality, too, feels luxurious to the touch and I know that it will hold up well for many seasons to come. THANK YOU, VTC!! I just love everything in your catalogue!! Keep on bringing it!
