Hearth Cricket (Polished Brass)
Inspired by this belief, the beloved 19th century English writer, Charles Dickens, titled one of his novels A Cricket on the Hearth. As testified by the tale, Victorians postured the little chirper by fireside in the belief that only good would come upon their household.

I purchased this hearth cricket for my daughter as a wedding gift. She is getting married THIS Christmas Eve! I purchased one for my new home after a divorce 3 years ago and both of my children who moved in with me loved the cricket and the story that it would bring good luck! My daughter will be quite excited to see she has her own for her hearth. I know she will think of me each time she looks at it!

When I gave these to my daughter for her fireplace, my grandchildren were absolutely charmed by the story and the idea of a good luck cricket. Best Christmas Buy Ever!

How adorable a gift for someone who has a hearth or an area of collectibles. The legend makes this item and wish for even a dollar or two more, they would provide the story of the heath cricket in a more stable condition because without the legend, its just an insect,, might look like a cockroach even It is the story that sold me to give these as gifts this year. Just a thought, but the he cricket story is what makes this special, otherwise, get any ole trinket.
