God's Garden Sign
$39.95
Description
Utterly taken by the garden at Hammerfield Penshurst, hymn writer Dorothy Frances Gurney could not keep herself from committing her thoughts in Lord Gower's visitor's log. Titled "God's Garden", the second to last verse has come into popularity -- though few are familiar with its origins.
The kiss of the sun for pardon,
the song of the birds for mirth,
one is nearer God's heart in a garden
than anywhere else on earth.
"God's Garden" lines 13 - 16, Poems by Dorothy Frances Gurney (1913).
Station this poetic sign at the entrance of a garden, or tuck away near one's hydrangea bush. 12 x 36"". Iron. Exclusive!"

Buyer Beware
I expected a dramatic a36 inch long sign, since it’s described as 36 x12. No. It’s small, at 12x7! What an utter let down, especially given the price. What they mean to say that is that it stands 36 inches in height, when placed on the stick. Very misleading. I put it in my yard to decide, and though I am severely let down, it does have some charm. This is a gift, and I don’t want to try and find a replacement. The receiver doesn’t have an expectation of size, so she’ll probably like it. Extremely overpriced given the size.
