Inspired by one of the most recognized Tiffany patterns, the dragonfly lamp was fashioned by Tiffany Glass Girl Clara Driscoll. Though it was Louis Comfort Tiffany's practice not to credit designers to individual pieces, Driscoll was when the piece earned a medal at the 1893 World's Fair.
A discovery of letters in recent years have recognized Driscoll as the designer of more than thirty other lamps.
