Description
Queen Victoria had a particular fondness for Ireland and during her reign made four separate visits. She was warmly received and wrote in her diary of the cheering crowds that came to meet her. The penny coins used in our jewelry date from the latter days of the reign of Victoria, with some dating as early as 1890.
Legend card: "In for a penny, in for a pound!" Our striking British penny necklace features a classic bronze pence coin originally minted during the late Victorian Age. One side of the coin features a crowned bust of Queen Victoria wearing a widows' veil in memory of her beloved Prince Albert. Meet the Artisan
Established in 1945 by the Walsh family, every authentic piece of genuine Connemara marble has been quarried in Lissoughter, County Galway and hand-polished in the family workshop in County Dublin. The quarry was originally opened in the 1820''s and is the oldest working marble quarry and the marble from this historic site has lain hidden in the ground for over 900 million years . For three generations, the family tradition has been to work with this rare green marble and they take pride in every timeless treasure they create. No two pieces are ever the same and are said to be as "unique as fingerprints". The exquisite design and craftsmanship of this special stone embodies the beauty of the Emerald Isle and is an authentic piece of Ireland to be cherished.
