Also known as the "Medal of Our Lady of Graces," this design born of divine inspiration originated in 1830 when the Blessed Mother appeared to Sister Catherine Labouré in Paris. As the story goes, Sister Labourß woke up after hearing a child's voice calling her to the chapel. There she was visited by the Virgin Mary who told her, "God wishes to charge you with a mission. You will be contradicted, but do not fear; you will have the grace to do what is necessary."
