Amethyst Depression Filigree Pitcher
In History. . .
To boost sales during the Great Depression, glassware was given with a purchase. Americans pieced together sets of the translucent dining ware, collecting hope.
In a time where luxury was scarce, ornate Depression glass afforded an escape into a daydream of living as the upper class might.
The sets were designed in over a hundred patterns and fifteen colors.

This pitcher is lovely. It's quite heavy and sturdy. I'm using it next to an antique Victorian lamp along with other amethyst color glassware. Love it.

Picture a lovely afternoon in the garden with a pitcher of lemonade or ice tea. This pitcher is the perfect size for 2-3 people. The glass is a little heavy so it will not chip easily. I plan to use it often.

I bought this for summertime teas and lemonade. It is a beautiful piece, and I am so glad I was able to find this. Please keep making this style of vintage glassware available... I am a big fan!
