Amethyst Depression Prim Pedestal Cake Stand
In History. . .
To boost sales during the Great Depression, glassware was given with a purchase. Americans pieced together sets of the translucent dining ware, collecting hope.
In a time where luxury was scarce, ornate Depression glass afforded an escape into a daydream of living as the upper class might.
The sets were designed in over a hundred patterns and fifteen colors.

Beautiful small cake pedestal that evokes a nostalgic feeling- it is not the color of pink Depression glass, it is more of a smoky mauve color, but is heavy and a lovely piece to serve dessert. I love it!

I absolutely love this colored, cut victorian glassware. They are heavy and worth the money.

This MUST be purchased with the dessert plates! It is perfect for a small 7 cake. I have a recipe for a Christmas MountainCake that will be just perfect!I have never known how to serve that cake before! This is very dark amethyst and heavy, very well made!
