Toxic Teacup And Saucer - You Have Been Poisoned
Historically known as the "Black Widow," Mary Ann Cotton spooned arsenic into the teacups of three unsuspecting husbands and two lovers. Who, after all, would suspect a nurse? (And a quite handsome one at that!)
Cotton's affinity for insurance premiums exceeded any longings for a soulmate, and her true tale is as chilling as a cup of chamomile that sits for hours on a January day.
Upon several sips, the foreboding message "You have been poisoned." is visible through the amber brew, thereby raising eyebrows as to one's pending fate. An opulent European china pattern cannot distract from such grave concerns.
- Verdant, poison-ivy green design.
- White porcelain.

What a neat idea. The cup is not as delicate and the decoration is not as fine as I would have liked, but it is quite a conversation piece.

I found this for a friend of mine who shares my dark humor. I cannot wait for her to see it, she will LOVE it as much as I did!

I love this cup and saucer set! My mom got it for me for Christmas, and it's just perfect! At first glance, it's just stunning, and at second glance, it's HILARIOUS! It's rare that a gag gift is also beautiful and functional; I am delighted to have one of my own!

When I saw this teacup in your catalog, I knew it was perfect for my daughter. I bought it for her as part of her birthday gift. She is a tea drinker with a macabre sense of humor. I know she is enjoying it and am so happy! I have been a Victorian Trading customer for decades and have passed that down to my two daughters. We love VTC!!!

A lovely tea cup and saucer which is handsomely gift boxed. I can't wait to give it to my daughter who not only has a tea cup collection, but will appreciate the irony as well.
