Circa 1855 France, the clever crystal disc was placed around a drippy taper to catch candle drippings thereby protecting lace cloths and furnishings from damage. The glass collar offers a central opening through which a candle is inserted into a candleholder.
The concept was further embellished with dangling prisms, and fanciful etched motifs popularized in Europe. Electrified chandeliers continue to mimic the candlelit candelabras with decorative bobeches on every arm.

beautiful
I bought a chandelier with no crystals on it and wasn't happy with it , I bought six of these bobeches to embellish it, what a huge difference it made in my light fixture. Just delighted with this purchase couldn't be happier. !!

Pretty Bobeches
These bobeches are so pretty! I have them on crystal candleholders; they remind me of my grandmother and that's why I am especially fond of them! They looked beautiful on my dining table for the holidays.

Beautiful Bobeches
I read the reviews prior to purchasing these, so I was a little concerned with the long lasting beauty, ie. tarnishing, etc. All I can say at this time is they are exquisite and definitely add a pop of bling to my my mantel. They are absolutely BETTER than I had hoped for and now I need to purchase more for gifts. At present, I can't say if they will or won't tarnish but for now they are everything I wanted.
