Antebellum Crazy Quilt (50 X 60 In)

I bought not one but two of these quilts. I have two couches in my LR and I bought one thinking I would do something else for the other couch but once I saw it and the vibrant colors I had to have a second one. I'm absolutely in love with my quilts and they are beautiful in my Mediterranean style home.Quality materials, quality craftsmanship...love it.Highly recommend this product, you will not be disappointed.

Although the Antebellum Crazy Quilt I just received does not have the wheat pattern embroidered on the squares, it does have an abundance of the more basic criss-cross and cross shaped blanket stitches throughout. One variegated thick thread in mited gold and green is used in multiple areas evenly over the entire front of this lap quilt. The border is a very dark and rich looking deep blue velvet. Very pretty fabrics with nice contrasting golds, burgundy, greens and dark blue. I may add a stitched pattern of embellishments on the navy patches to personalize it slightly before display. This is a very pretty modern take on the antique versions which are now falling apart and rotting. I fluffed mine in the dryer under very low heat w/dryer sheet for 10 min. then no heat for 10 min. It plumped up and looked much nicer...then used a toothpick to tighten a few cross stitches that were uneven. I'm handy with my hands but couldn't make this for the price.

All that I was anticipating. Velvets and satin with lots of accent stitching. Border is very dark navy, almost black.Heavy and warm for a cold winters night. The back side is nicely lined in a deep rust. I would order this quilt again, worth the price.

I took a chance on this Crazy Quilt, because I had priced the antique originals and they were too expensive. They were also so old they were not machine washable. What the company did not reveal in their ad about this quilt was that the backing is a thick cotton fabric in a maroon/brown color. The backing fabric is a tight weave that does not attract pet hair! They also do not tell you to disregard the smell when you open the packing, and immediately wash it on a medium setting, and dry it on medium also, with a fabric softener. They also do not tell you that some of the patches are satin brocade, and not just velveteen alone. I like that. It makes the quilt look more like the real thing. One of the reviews complained that the embroidery was very sparse. Not so with the one I ordered. I was resigned to do some additional embroidery of my own when it arrived, but that was completely unnecessary. The embroidery was excellent and generously distributed all over the quilt. I put

I love my Antebellum Crazy Quilt- I keep it on my easy chair in front of the TV and often snuggle under it and fall asleep. It is velvety soft and snuggly and nice and warm in the winter, but I also snuggle under it in the Summer as well when there is air conditioning.I have always been a fan of the classical Civil War era crazy quilt made from scraps of fine fabric with embroidery, but they are hard to make and difficult to find already made. People who have one don't let them go. It is a beautiful replica that has an authentic look. It feels elegant to snuggle under it.
