Queen Victoria ascended the throne in 1837 and married her cousin Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg in 1840. This commemorative thimble is typical of the Victorian style of the period being large, heavy and ornate.

This Victorian thimble is made from lead-free pewter and is supplied in a clear acetate box with an information card inside.
